​​The California Association of County Executives (CACE) is a professional organization dedicated to the advancement of California’s County Executives and County Administrators. The organization has 55 CAO/CEO’s and their assistants as its members. There are currently three rural counties out of the 58 counties that do not have a county executive. CACE is an affiliate of the California State Association of Counties (CSAC).

We are here to support

The organization fosters education, peer relationships and mentorship to its members though educational programs, an annual meeting, statewide business meetings and a series of periodic regional meetings across the state.

​CACE assists CSAC on a periodic bases by providing technical expertise in critical areas of county activities such as the development of the funding formula for AB 109 funding, which realigned the criminal justice activities in California and as well at the state return of the In Home Supportive Services (IHSS) to counties.

​CACE engages in legislative matters that affect the overall activities of counties and occasionally takes a legislative positon, but in most cases supports the legislative platform of CSAC.

​CACE works diligently with CSAC staff to ensure collective representation of rural, suburban and urban county needs.  The CACE President serves as an advisor on the CSAC Executive Board of Directors.
